The Role

As the Head of Product Management, you’ll be leading the product management function to deliver the best products to our customers, at the right time and to an excellent quality. You will report to our Chief Technology and Product Officer and line manage the Product Managers, Document and UX Writer as well as work extremely closely with the innovation, UX and engineering teams. You will also sit on the Autocab Senior Management Team as the senior Product representative within the business.

To be successful you’ll have:

  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary agile product teams building SaaS products
  • Experience of driving the application lifecycle of a suite of products
  • Experience with B2B product management, as well as an appreciation of B2C as we provide consumer apps for our customers
  • Brought together multiple Product visions/roadmaps into a single coherent view, and presented them both internally and at customer workshops
  • Experience of dealing with a wide range of stakeholders, internal and external.
  • Experience/feel comfortable with a flat structure. Everyone from our CEO to our most junior colleagues can and do collaborate
  • The ability to present product to customers with passion and skill and really sell our product’s features to everyone inside and outside the business
  • Experience in balancing the needs of customers, with the need to drive and lead innovation in the marketplace, whilst making sure we don’t increase tech debt or reduce quality, whilst we work at speed
  • Be able to express your own opinions but are open to listening and being convinced of other viewpoints. Be able to respectfully challenge and hold discussion with your colleagues and customers alike.
  • An entrepreneurial instinct be curious, passionate, empathetic, and use data to drive your decisions

It would be even better if…:

  • You have department management experience. Being a lead rather than a head of is also valuable as this is a people management role
  • Experience with the Taxi or private hire sector or very similar industries
  • Experience of leading change, in ways of working and in business processes
  • Experience of geographically dispersed teams managed from an innovation hub you are working in
  • Have used tooling and analytics to help improve products/processes and delivery

Responsibilities

  • Designing and implementing product strategy and product roadmaps from the ground up with your team of Product Managers
  • Management of the Product Team, their structure, scope, and ongoing professional development
  • Driving the execution of all product development activities and business planning processes across cross-functional teams
  • Turning the product strategy into building requirements for everything from MVP’s and a fully polished features, through to an ongoing product roadmap
  • Managing the product through the full product lifecycle, gathering and prioritising products and customer requirements, defining the product vision working closely with sales, development and marketing
  • Working with the engineering and R&D teams to deliver a scalable architecture addressing current needs and future internal growth
  • Reporting of development progress, departmental KPIs and SMT programme progress.
  • As part of our innovate with Autocab programme, work with customers on new products and features to improve the product, customer experience, and effectiveness of our SaaS solutions
  • Help us move fully to data based decision making, where we set and define metrics for each product stream
  • Drive improvements to the processes and cross-team involvement from feature spec through to general availability for all customers

  • 9am - 5pm, Monday – Friday
  • Hybrid options are available, in our new city centre office. 50% split
  • Our Collaborations Days are Wednesday and Thursday with alternate Tuesdays

Responsibilities

As the Product Manager for the Core Team you’ll be part of our Product team and cover the 4 core B2B products for our taxi operators and their drivers.

To be successful in this role, you’ll have a lot of experience working closely with Development teams, excellent backlog refinement and prioritisation skills and strong communication skills. You’ll have experience in B2B SaaS businesses (ideally taxi industry experience) and a proven track record of being able to multitask on different products, across different teams, at once.

At the heart of your role, you’ll translate ideas from all across the business and customer base into a product strategy and then ultimately a roadmap of features and improvements to each of the product. You will be the voice of customer for each product and you’ll partner with the Product Innovation Manager as well as internal stakeholders; R&D development, design, marketing, sales, onboarding, to improve our B2B products. To succeed in this role, you will;

  • Have 2+ years Product Owner/Manager experience
  • Be a great communicator who can both change tone and tact depending on who you are speaking too, and build strong, effective relationships and influence senior stakeholders and teams
  • Enjoy collaborating with internal teams to drive quick delivery of new products and features to our customers
  • Relish autonomy. We’re currently a small team and being a self-starter who can wear multiple hats is crucial
  • Be a problem solver - solving problems with new technologies is key
  • Love analytics! We want to put data at the heart of our decision making and make sure we are measuring success.
  • Think commercially, not just for Autocab, but for our B2B customers as well

You will report to our Head of Product Management to support Autocab with our key business objectives to achieve the following:

  • Drive, with stakeholders, the B2B product strategy and roadmap for 4 products: Booking & Dispatch, Management, Accounts & Driver Companion (Android & iOS)
  • Evangelise the strategy so all stakeholders are aligned, have context, and understand where we are going
  • Speak to customers about their requirements for your products and keep them in the loop on timelines
  • Prioritise roadmaps based on value
  • Create product requirement documentation based on internal stakeholder input and customer requirements
  • Work closely with our Innovation & UX team to make sure our customer experience is world class
  • Work closely with development tech leads & teams to create well defined, estimated backlogs of work
  • Define what success means for each feature/new product before it even goes to development and measure against this after release
  • Build great stakeholder relationships and work closely with them to promote your products both internally and externally, and to ensure a cohesive message
  • Spot opportunities for us to automated or streamlined products and processes

Job Requirements

ESSENTIAL

  • 2+ years of product management experience
  • Strong technical knowledge
  • Evidenced product discovery skills
  • Agile product management understanding
  • Problem solving experience
  • Great organisational skills
  • Analytics experience

DESIREABLE

  • Taxi industry experience

  • iOS/Android app Product Management experience

  • Experience of working in a company enjoying rapid growth/success
