Passengers now have the option to book trips with a local operator via the Uber app
Uber has announced that it is launching Local Cab with six new local operators across the UK, enabling passengers in these areas to book a trip with a local taxi operator via the Uber app.
In Blackburn, Liverpool, Walsall, Nottingham, High Wycombe and Cambridge, Local Cab will run alongside regular Uber-operated services, including UberX, UberXL and Comfort.
Local Cab trips will be passed to the operators in Blackburn, Liverpool, Walsall, Nottingham, High Wycombe and Cambridge to fulfill, and all subsequent support will be provided by them.
Since the company’s successful pilot of Local Cab last year, the product has launched in over 61 locations across the UK.

We’re looking forward to extending Local Cab in more UK towns and cities soon.”
