Autocab’s revolutionary Passenger App with iGo network is one of three finalists chosen for the Innovation Award at the 2017 UK App Awards. Competing alongside multi-billion-pound airline easyJet, Autocab’s white-label Passenger App has been recognised as one of the most innovative apps on the market today.

Combined with the iGo network, Autocab’s Passenger App levels the playing field for taxi operators in the on-going battle with ride-hailing apps such as Uber, MyTaxi, Lyft and Gett. Since its launch we have successfully deployed over 400 apps for private hire firms across the UK, collectively processing more than one million app bookings per month.

Integrated with the iGo network since May 2017, the Passenger App allows passengers not only to book rides with their local taxi firm, but anywhere across the UK. It’s a revolutionary system that helps taxi firms retain customers, even when they’re away from home.

“I firmly believe there’s taxi companies up and down the country that probably would have gone bust under the pressure from Uber,” said Mohammed Bashir, who operates Middlesbrough Borough Cars Ltd in North-East England. “Because they have the tools to fight back, especially with the Passenger App, they have been able to survive.”

The inaugural UK App Awards will celebrate the very best of British app design, rewarding those companies and developers who have excelled in producing creative and intuitive apps. Also shortlisted for the Innovation Award along with Autocab are easyJet’s Travel App and Laundrapp, an on-demand dry cleaning and laundry service.

The entries will be judged by a panel of tech industry leaders and app experts, with winners announced at a gala dinner on Thursday 23 November at Emirates Stadium, London.
