Private Mobile Radio

Private Mobile Radio (PMR) has been used within the taxi industry for many years and has been the primary means of car communicating with the base. On voice only systems it is not an issue which radio the driver is using as long as each radio with your fleet is programmed with correct freqeuncies.

With data systems, consisting of a radio and data terminal, however, you require a data license issued by Ofcom and your radios should ideally be of the same type and model. By standardising equipment, programming of the data terminal & radio becomes a straight forward operation
